Monthly average remote-sensing datasets of phytoplankton pigment concentrations in the Bohai Sea， Yellow Sea， and Eastern China Sea （1998—2020）
“Significant progress has been made in the study of the community structure of marine phytoplankton. This study successfully developed a pigment concentration remote sensing model based on phytoplankton absorption using Gaussian decomposition method, based on voyage survey data from 2016 to 2018 in the Bohai Sea, Yellow Sea, and East China Sea. The error of this model is acceptable through the evaluation of the in-situ observation data set, and the satellite matching verification also shows that the inversion results are consistent with the measured data. Using this model, the research team further analyzed the monthly average reflectance products of SeaWiFS and MODIS Aqua remote sensing from 1998 to 2020, and obtained 23 years of spatiotemporal variation data records of 16 pigment concentrations in the Bohai Sea, Yellow Sea, and East China Sea regions. This research achievement not only provides an important means for studying the pigment concentration of phytoplankton in complex and turbid coastal waters, but also provides strong data support for the refinement of marine phytoplankton community structure. This study is of great significance for a deeper understanding and research on carbon cycle and climate change, providing new ideas and directions for scientific research and practical applications in related fields.”
