Introduction to TCFM Technique for Tracking Cloud and a Preliminary Experiment
The article suggests a new technique for tracking cloud with combination of Fourier phase analysis and maximum correlation(TCFM)
to effectively compute component of sub-pixel movements and improve the precision of tracking clouds in integral times pixel movements of maximum correlation.The theoretical concept and arithmetic method of TCFM are introduced
and the experimental results from simulated and practical satellite images are included.It shows that TCFM is effective
the precision of tracking clouds has been improved over the maximum correlation only and that TCFM has the equivalent effect with Fourier phase analysis in tracking clouds of high temporal resolution satellite images.Therefore
there exists the potential applications of the TCFM method in Cloud Motion Wind calculations.
