Abstract

Investment facilitation and promotion has been a major strategy adopted in the cities in both the Yangtze and Pearl River Delta in China for economic growth during the past two decades as well as a major driving force of economic development in the two delta regions.Other than "preferential" investment policy

comprehensive information provision for investors is important for attracting investments and essential for success given the keen competition among these cities.Geographic Information System（GIS） provides an effective platform for the construction and visual display of experimental economic indicators of an investment environment.This paper attempts to provide a brief report on "The Globalized Delta Economies in China: Visualized Economic Indicators for Investment Environment" and to discuss how GIS can further be better utilized for investment promotion.
