    • Research progress on COllaborative Carbon Column Observing Network (COCCON) and prospects of its methane monitoring application in China

    • The latest research progress shows that ground-based remote sensing technology has achieved significant results in monitoring atmospheric greenhouse gases. The COCCON project utilizes a portable Fourier spectrometer and the high-precision inversion algorithm PROFFAST to effectively supplement the global carbon column total observation network. The project has made breakthroughs in areas such as satellite remote sensing inversion verification, urban emissions, coal mining emissions, and livestock emissions, providing new ideas for methane monitoring in Chinese cities and coal mining areas.
