Consistency correction of multi-source satellite-derived lake water color index: A case study of typical lakes on the Tibetan Plateau
- “The color of lake water is an important climate variable in lake ecosystems. In recent years, the Forel Ule index (FUI) based on satellite remote sensing inversion of lake water color has been widely used to indicate the spatiotemporal changes in lake ecology and water quality in large regions. Multi source satellite collaborative observation can significantly improve observation frequency and spatiotemporal coverage, but its inversion consistency problem urgently needs to be solved. This study takes six typical lakes on the Qinghai Tibet Plateau as the research area. Based on Landsat 5/TM, Landsat 7/ETM+, Landsat 8/OLI, and MODIS surface reflectance products, a consistency correction method for multi-source satellite data inversion of lake water color index (FUI) is proposed to correct the differences in chromaticity angle and FUI inversion caused by systematic deviations in satellite spectral response functions and surface reflectance products.”
