중국 반건조 지역에 분포하는 온대 산림초원 생태계는 숲과 초원 사이의 전이 생태계 유형으로, 독특한 기후 및 지형 조건에서 사질토양에 발달한 지역성 최고 식생 군락이다. 산림초원은 교목, 관목 및 초본 식생이 혼합하여 자라는 특징과 높은 공간 이질성을 가지고 있다. 식생 원격 감지는 어려움이 크며 현재까지 전 세계적으로 가장 부정확한 토지 피복 유형 중 하나이다. 정밀도와 범위를 동시에 고려하여 온대 산림초원 지역 규모에서 다양한 유형 식물 생장 상태 모니터링을 수행하는 것은 현재 건조 지역 식생 원격 탐사의 주요 연구 주제이자 난제이다. 본 연구는 기계 학습 알고리즘을 기반으로, 근지면 무인 항공기 원격 감시 플랫폼을 통해 지표 식생 유형 정보를 획득하여 훈련 데이터 세트를 구축하고, 고해상도 위성 영상을 결합하여 산림초원의 목본 및 초본 식물 피복도 추정 모델을 구축하였다. 이를 통해 무인 항공기부터 위성까지 온대 산림초원의 목본 및 초본 식물 피복도의 동시 추정을 구현하였으며, 두 가지 고해상도 위성 영상이 산림초원 목본 및 초본 식물 피복도 추정에 미치는 차이를 비교하였다. 연구 결과는 다음과 같다: (1) 무인 항공기 근지면 원격 감지 영상을 이용하여 지표 피복 유형을 정확하게 분류할 수 있어 지역 온대 산림초원 목본 및 초본 식물 피복도 추정 모델에 많은 정확한 훈련 샘플 데이터를 제공하였다; (2) 기계 학습 알고리즘을 기반으로 GF-6와 Sentinel-2 두 가지 고해상도 위성 영상을 이용해 구축된 산림초원 피복도 모델은 목본 및 초본 식물 피복도 추정이 양호하게 수행되었다. GF-6 기반 산림초원 목본 및 초본 피복도 추정 결과의 결정계수는 각각 0.72와 0.66이며, 평균 제곱근 오차는 각각 6.76%와 10.69%, 추정 정확도는 각각 46.31%와 77.88%였다; Sentinel-2 기반 산림초원 목본 및 초본 피복도 추정 결과의 결정계수는 각각 0.72와 0.81이며, 평균 제곱근 오차는 각각 6.53%와 8.20%, 추정 정확도는 각각 54.30%와 83.17%였다; (3) Sentinel-2 위성 영상을 기반으로 한 산림초원 목본 및 초본 식물 피복도 추정 정확도가 GF-6 위성보다 약간 높았으며, 두 위성 영상 모두 초본 식물 피복도 추정 정확도가 목본 식물보다 현저히 더 높았다. 본 연구는 산림초원 목본 및 초본 식물 피복도의 경관 규모에서 지역 규모로 확장하는 추정에 새로운 아이디어를 제공하며, 무인 항공기에서 위성으로의 크로스 스케일 협동 관측 방법은 지역 온대 산림초원 내 서로 다른 생활형 식물의 생장 상태 모니터링에 효과적인 방법적 지원을 제공할 수 있음을 나타낸다. 향후 다중 시기 고해상도 위성 데이터를 기반으로 지역 규모 온대 산림초원의 목본 및 초본 식물 동적 모니터링이 가능할 것이다.
