Глубина снега является одним из важных физических параметров снежного покрова, и точное её определение имеет большое значение для исследований гидрологии снега и водных ресурсов, изменения климата, снежных бедствий и др. В настоящее время для изучения глубины снега в длительных временных рядах широко используются данные наблюдений глубины снега метеостанций и данные обратного преобразования глубины снега, полученные с использованием пассивной микроволновой радиосъёмки (например, SMMR, SSM/I и SSMI/S). В статье проводится сравнение пространственного распределения и межгодовой изменчивости максимальных и средних значений глубины снега из этих двух типов данных по территории Китая, а также анализируются особенности их распределения. Результаты показывают, что с пространственной точки зрения наилучшая корреляция между наблюдениями глубины снега на станциях и данными микроволновой радиосъёмки на соответствующих пикселях отмечается на северо-востоке страны, затем в Синьцзян-Уйгурском автономном районе, и слабая корреляция на Тибетском нагорье. Распределение глубины снега в зонах устойчивого снежного покрова у двух типов данных достаточно согласовано, но в районах глубокого снега более 40 см и в южных регионах с глубиной снега менее 5 см максимальные значения глубины, зарегистрированные на станциях, значительно выше, чем максимальные значения, определённые по данным радиосъёмки. По времени, по сравнению с периодом 1980—2019 годов, корреляция между глубиной снега на станциях и радиоданными в типичных снежных регионах заметно улучшилась в период 1989—2019 годов. Кроме того, сравнение изменений глубины снега за последние 30 лет в Китае показало, что оба типа данных дают согласованную значимую тенденцию (p<0.05) к снижению глубины снега в юго-восточной части Тибетского нагорья и согласованное значимое (p<0.05) увеличение глубины снега на северо-восточных равнинах. Метеостанции в Тибетском нагорье в основном расположены на относительно низкой высоте, что не позволяет полноценно отражать среднее распределение и изменения глубины снега в высокогорных и горных районах в соответствующих пикселях микроволновой радиосъёмки, а обратное преобразование данных пассивной микроволновой радиосъёмки чувствительно к изменениям характеристик снежного покрова и плохо реагирует на экстремальные снегопады с быстрыми изменениями глубины снега за короткий период.
