Индекс биомассы LiDAR (LBI, LiDAR Biomass Index) способен вычислять наземную биомассу отдельного дерева на основе данных бортового LiDAR и обладает высокой точностью оценки биомассы на уровне отдельных деревьев и пробных площадей, однако его возможности для картографирования биомассы на больших территориях пока не были полностью использованы. В этом исследовании на примере лиственницы, широко произрастающей на севере Китая, использовался LBI для вычисления биомассы каждого дерева в малых лесных участках, затем суммировалась биомасса на уровне этих участков и верифицировалась точность расчетов с помощью данных обследования. Кроме того, оценивалась универсальность моделей биомассы лиственницы, основанных на LBI в других лесных хозяйствах, и сопоставление с популярным методом регрессии переменных LMR (LiDAR metrics-based regression). Результаты показали, что LBI позволяет с высокой точностью рассчитывать биомассу на уровне малых участков леса, коэффициенты детерминации (R²) для моделей, построенных в разных регионах, составили 0,86—0,80, относительная корневая среднеквадратическая ошибка (rRMSE) — 33,51%—40,23%. Точность биомассы, рассчитанной методом LBI на основе моделирования 35 деревьев, сопоставима с точностью метода LMR, основанного на более чем 30 пробных площадях (свыше 3000 деревьев), при этом у метода LBI выше универсальность моделей для одного и того же вида в разных лесных хозяйствах. В данном исследовании был использован AGB_LBI-модель для расчета биомассы каждого дерева в малых лесных участках западной части лесничества Мэнцзяган, а также создана карта биомассы лиственницы. Распределение биомассы, вычисленное с помощью LiDAR, имело сходную тенденцию с картой биомассы, основанной на наземных обследованиях, при масштабе 20 м×20 м достигнута высокая согласованность (R²=0,75, RMSE=1,55 т). Исследование подтвердило способность метода LBI оценивать наземную биомассу лесов на уровне малых участков в региональном масштабе и продемонстрировало потенциал применения метода для масштабных оценок биомассы в лесах.
