El intercambio de datos de nubes de puntos LiDAR multifuente es de gran importancia para la investigación en ecología forestal y algoritmos LiDAR. Para ello, el Instituto de Información de Recursos de la Academia China de Ciencias Forestales ha publicado un conjunto de datos de referencia de nubes de puntos LiDAR y estudios de campo en sitios forestales subtropicales obtenidos mediante plataformas tripuladas, drones y plataformas terrestres. El conjunto de datos se obtuvo en la plantación estatal Gaofeng en la Región Autónoma Zhuang de Guangxi, China, que incluye tres especies principales de árboles: eucalipto, cedro y pino marítimo, en 25 parcelas de muestra. Los datos de estudios de campo incluyen la ubicación de las parcelas, la posición de los árboles, el diámetro a la altura del pecho, la altura del árbol, la altura bajo las ramas y la extensión de la copa.
