Chang'e-4 es la primera sonda en lograr un aterrizaje suave en el lado oculto de la luna en la historia de la humanidad. El cráter Von Kármán, donde se encuentra el lugar de aterrizaje, está en el noreste de la estructura de impacto lunar más grande (cuenco Anticipkinic-Antlikin). Las actividades de exploración científica de Chang'e-4 proporcionarán valiosos datos de investigación para analizar la formación y evolución del lado oculto de la luna. Este artículo combina los datos del radar lunar, los datos ópticos y multiespectrales del orbitador y el último mapa geológico de la luna llevado por Yutu-2, para un análisis profundo de la composición de la superficie poco profunda del cráter Von Kármán, la distribución espacial de minerales y la fuente de los materiales.
