Laser induced fluorescence spectra of various plants can be obstained by illuminating with 337 nm N2 laser.Differences among peak wavelengthes and peak intensities can be used to distinguish woody broadleaf trees and coniferous trees
as well as herbaceous dicotyledon and monocotyledon. Fluorescence intensity ratios of 685 nm/740 nm and 440 nm/550 nm can be used as two parameters to distinguish plants. Suitable period and season should be selected for detecting plants when using the technology of laser induced fluorescence
the optimum detecting period of monocotyledon in joining stage
dicotyledon branching stage
woody plants between late spring and early summer. The paper also discribed the identification and classfication of plants
as well as the significance and application propects to monitor growth vigors of plants using the technology of laser induced fluorescence.
