This paper deals with mapping abilities of Spacelab images (MC
Metric Camera)
and its geo-applications. The 1:100000 and 1:200000 scale topographic maps and orthophotomap had been made from MC stereo-image
the results show that the high resolution MC images surely could meet the national standard at the scale of 1:100000 either for planimetric accuracy or for height-measuring
and could be used for revising map at scale of 1:50000.The digital combination of digitized MC image and Landsat MSS in both spatial resolution and spectral characteristics were improved and it has some advantages for land use surveying and other geo-applications. The ground checking shows that the interpretation accuracy of land-use types were improved from 7% to 20% comparing with original Landsat MSS and MC images.
