Numerical Simulation and Comparison with Measurements for the Correlation of Active and Passive Microwave Remote Sensing[J]. Journal of Remote Sensing, 1996, (1). DOI: 10.11834/jrs.1996005.
Employing the model of a layer of continuous random medium with anunderlying rough surface
the bistatic scattering and back-scattering coefficients arecalculated. By using the reciprocity
the emissivity is also calculated. Numerical results simulate the change of the backscattering and emissivity of the vegetationcanopies and their correlation during whole growth period. Theoretical results arecompared with the measurements of active and passive remote sensing of severalvegetation canopies. The correlated characteristics of microwave active and passiveremote sensing are discussed.
