True-color composite lmage of a typical cropland area in the Middle Yangtze River Plain acquired by the GF-2 satellite
The cover image is true-color composite image of a typical cropland area in the Middle Yangtze River Plain acquired by the Gaofen-2 (GF-2) satellite. It depicts an agricultural landscape characterized by dense water networks, interlaced fields, and a mosaic of villages, roads, and farmland. With its meter spatial resolution and high geolocation accuracy, GF-2 imagery clearly reveals the boundary contours and internal textures of cropland parcels, as well as their spatial relationships with surrounding features such as roads, ditches, shelterbelts, water bodies, and settlements. This image comes from the High-Resolution Remote Sensing Cropland Field Parcel Dataset for the Middle Yangtze River Plain (LGISer-CFD). LGISer-CFD covers the Jianghan Plain, the Dongting Lake region, and the Poyang Lake region, and consists of a remote sensing interpretation product of cropland field parcels and a cropland field parcel segmentation sample dataset. It provides important data support for the detailed characterization of agricultural landscapes, cropland resource surveys, and dynamic monitoring. LGISer-CFD have been publicly shared in the scientific data bank and the National Earth System Science Data Center, and can be used by professionals in the fields of geographic information, remote sensing mapping and artificial intelligence to carry out relevant research and application. It will be continuously supplemented, corrected, and optimized based on newly acquired remote sensing imagery and data quality verification results. Updated products and the latest versions will be released promptly through the aforementioned data-sharing platforms.
