Potential landslides identification and development characteristics analysis in Hunza valley, along China-Pakistan Economic Corridor based on SBAS-InSAR
- “A significant progress has been made in the study of landslide disasters in the Hongzha River Valley section of the China Pakistan Economic Corridor. This study successfully identified 53 potential landslides using Sentinel-1 satellite data and SBAS InSAR technology, and conducted in-depth analysis of their development characteristics. The research results show that the unstable deformation threshold in the Hongzha River Valley area is -20 mm/a, and potential landslides are mainly concentrated on both sides of the river and the slopes of the highway, and are mostly distributed in weathered accumulation layers and metamorphic rock areas. In addition, the advantageous terrain conditions for landslide development are a height difference of 200-1000 meters, a slope of 30-40 °, and slopes facing south and southwest. This study not only helps deepen the understanding of the landslide disaster in the Hongzha River Valley, but also provides scientific basis for disaster prevention and reduction work in Pakistan, and provides strong support for ensuring the safe construction and operation of the China Pakistan Economic Corridor.”
